This is my personal blog, where I write about journalism, musings I have while on Metro, and various topics in pop culture. It is a casual blog, without a theme for the time being. People don’t have themes — except maybe if you’re applying to Harvard and you need a “theme” for your application.

I’ve worked on a number of Web sites, including Pre-K Now, Education Week, MegWhitman.com, and currently at Governing Magazine. I write about interesting state and local pilot programs, technology and education.

I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Journalism, with a concentration in magazine editorial, from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in 2007. I am an 2002 alumna of the National High School Institute-Journalism Division (also known as “Cherubs”), and I’ve served as an resident assistant for two summers.

In my spare time, I read (blogs, books, magazines, over your shoulder), and attempt to learn Spanish. I also claim to “run” often, but I walk more often than I run. I like the reaction I get from people when I tell them I “run.” So yes, I “run.”
